Important information for runners

The central point of the “Sudstroum escher kulturlaf” is near the “Maison des Arts et des Etudiants” (near the university). It will be the starting point, the finish line, the winners’ podium and the “After-Kulturlaf”. Race numbers will be distributed at the same place.

This year, we are introducing a brand-new 5-kilometre distance! You can choose to run alone or as part of a team.

In the team race, exactly 3 runners start together – each running the full 5 km at the same time. The individual times will be added together to form the team’s final time. The three fastest teams will win great prizes!

Whether with friends, colleagues, or family – the focus is on having fun and enjoying running together.

Participation is open from the age of 12.

Getting to the site

The site is easily accessible by bus, bike or by foot.

Plan enough time to get there. A stressful start may prevent you from completing the race as planned.

By car

Parking lots are available for runners, accompanying persons and spectators:

Train

CFL trains will run according to the usual timetable, arriving before the start of the race (from Luxembourg and Pétange) and departing after the race (to Luxembourg and Pétange).

Soft mobility

Access to and from the site on foot and by bike will be guaranteed without interruption before and during the entire event.

Each runner will be timed individually, except for the children’s race.

During the race

Refreshments

We provide 1 aid station on the 5-kilometer course, 2 aid stations on the 10-kilometer course, 3 aid stations on the 10-mile course and 4 aid stations on the half-marathon course. There will also be a refreshment point at the finish.

Timing

Timekeeping is done using a chip integrated into the race number.

Cultural trail

The “Sudstroum escher kulturlaf” circuit not only passes along various cultural sites in the city. Musicians and bands also play on podiums and natural sites all along the race route, before, during and after the runners’ passage.

Musical program

Musicians and bands will be on hand all along the course to cheer on runners and entertain spectators.

After the race

Awards ceremony & «AFTER KULTURLAF PARTY»

The awards ceremony takes place in the “Maison des Arts et des Etudiants” in Esch-Belval at around 8.15 pm. After the ceremony, there will be live music.

Results

Results will be available on our website www.kulturlaf.lu the day after the race.

Changing rooms & showers

Changing rooms and showers (for men and women) are available at the Lycée Bel-Val. After the race, a shuttle bus will operate permanently between the finish area and the Lycee (distance: approx. 1 kilometer).
